Judy McKinney-Cherry


Judy McKinney-Cherry was appointed Director of the Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO) by Governor Ruth Ann Minner in October 2002.  McKinney-Cherry is charged with carrying out DEDO’s mission of retaining, expanding and attracting businesses to Delaware to enhance the quality of life for Delawareans.

Prior, she held a regional management position and a series of strategic

leadership positions including Corporate Sales Manager, Director of Regional Operations, and Government and External Affairs with Info Systems, a national information technology services company headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware.  When McKinney-Cherry left Info Systems in 2002, she was responsible for managing nearly $30 million in business annually.

McKinney-Cherry has a certificate from the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute, including an accepted thesis related to the use of federal data in economic development efforts.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Political Science, while securing minors in Computer Science and Economics at the Utah State University.
