J. Brian Murphy

J. Brian Murphy is president of Murphy & Associates, a regional public relations and governmental affairs consulting firm, and a senior consultant to the City of Wilmington Office of Economic Development. Previously, he served as commerce director for the City where he was responsible for the Port of Wilmington. He is also the president and co-founder of the Homeownership Group, Inc, an affordable housing consulting firm.


Murphy is a board member of the Wilmington Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO) and a former treasurer of both the Wilmington Housing Authority and Wilmington Parking Authority.  Prior, he served on the City of Wilmington Pension Arbitration Commission, the City of Wilmington Cable TV Commission, and was the treasurer and a finance chair for the Delaware Democrat Party between 1990 and 2000.

Murphy is a graduate of the University of Delaware.
