Juice Concentrate

The Port of Wilmington has been an important gateway port and distribution center for chilled and frozen juice concentrates since the early 1980's.

In 1984, Citrosuco Paulista, one of Brazil's leading orange juice producers and shippers constructed a bulk orange juice off-loading and storage terminal at the Port of Wilmington.  After further expansion  in the early 1990's, Citrosuco's Wilmington facility became North America's largest bulk juice storage terminal with a total storage capacity of almost 6 million gallons.

The company operates a fleet of four specialized tanker vessels that call Wilmington year-round carrying bulk frozen orange juice concentrate.  Citrosuco North America is their North American sales and operating entity who operates the bulk juice storage terminal at the Port of Wilmington.

Wilmington is an East Coast port of import and distribution center for shipments of Argentine apple and pear juice concentrate, carried by modern refrigerated vessels.  The juice is stored in the Port's dock-side cold storage warehouses, and distributed by truck to apple juice processors throughout the United States.

Premier Juice uses the Wilmington has as its gateway for imports of frozen orange juice concentrate (FCOJ) from Belize and Costa Rica.
